Random Stuff

Where has the week gone? It went by so so fast. Brent’s been working a ton of overtime lately so I’ve hardly even seen him the last 5 days. I’m just finishing up some stuff for my last deadline which is coming up in a couple days, and I’ve been working on some class stuff too. I actually got to have a scrapping day yesterday though! Nicole came over and we hung out in my scraproom working on projects. She got a lot more accomplished then I did though. To be honest, I am feeling so burnt out right now. Besides scrapping, we also made a quick trip out to see the new Precious Memories store, then picked up Sushi for lunch on the way home – yum!!! Of course after we ate lunch, we wanted something sweet, and I have no sweets or chocolate or anything like that in the house right now. (Amazing I know). We looked through the cupboards and found one box of “No Pudge Brownies”. These things are the best!! No fat brownie mix and they taste like real full fat brownies. You can get them at most health food stores and places like Trader Joe’s has them too. So we stood there staring at the box wondering if we should make them. Then we closed the cupboard and still stood there. I was like “Should we make them?” and Nicole says “Well, we could just make them right now…..or we could go back upstairs, think about them, and talk about them, until we end up coming down here making them anyway.”. Good point. I like the way she thinks, lol. So we made them. As soon as we heard the oven timer go off, we ran downstairs, pulled them out of the oven and ate them with ice cream, LOL! So much for healthy eating today!

I did manage to get this little album done for Brent. I found these really cute Superman stickers when I was in Cincinnati  (Brent just LOVES Superman), so I made a mini book in the shape of the superman logo. It was a quick book to make, except for the cover, cause I wanted to make it different and instead of having the”S”on there, I made a “B” – it was a bit tricky but it worked!

And here are some random pictures of some things that have been going on around here the last couple weeks. The first ones are of Angus when he got stuck in the bathtub, hehe. Brent and I went out one night to get some groceries and when we got home only Zoey greeted us. (They both ALWAYS greet us – to see what treats we brought for them of course). We called Angus and he didn’t come which was really strange. Then I heard a weird noise coming from upstairs – like claws in the bathtub. We ran upstairs and there was Angus in one of the bathrooms – in the tub! He couldn’t get out! We figured he was playing with the cat and chased her in there, and because our tubs are really deep, he couldn’t climb out.

Happy Monday!

Just a quick post for today – I got a little bit more scrapping done. Here are the latest:

The first 2 layouts were done using the kit from Little Daisy Scrapbooking – all Love Elsie products (except for the Thickers – I added those in)

The second 2 layouts were done using the Memories From the Attic Kit – paper is Rusty Pickle.

A couple nights ago I got an odd wave of energy and decided to finally open the Dancing with the Stars Cardio Dance workout DVD I had. I am such a huge fan of the show that when I saw the DVD at Borders I just HAD to get it! Yeah that was back in November, and I still hadn’t opened it yet. Can you say procrastinator? That is totally me. In fact I tend to *collect* workout DVD’s almost as much as I collect scrapbooking supplies!

Anyway, the DVD was quite good, I didn’t really like the first dance as much as the others on there . The Jive was so much fun though, that was my favorite. And it really was a workout – I got more of a workout doing that DVD then I did on the elliptical at the gym the day before. I can only do workout DVD’s when I’m home alone, there is no way I can do them when anyone is around. I’m sure it must have been quite the scene while I attempted to do these dances, LOL!!! I bet the dogs were secretly laughing at me.

New Stuff

It’s been weeks but I finally got back to scrapping.  Got 2 classes done for Precious Memories for May and still working on one more for June. I also have been working on projects using both the Memories From the Attic kit and the Little Daisy Scrapbooking Kit. Lots of fun!

This was done using the Little Daisy kit – all products are Love Elsie. Before I went away for my long trip in March, Brent and I went to a Prom party at Nicole’s house – it was tons of fun! Everyone really got into it. Most people went to Value Village to find old tacky prom clothes from the 80’s. I managed to find my actual prom dress (from 1995 but it still fit it with the rest!lol) and I wore that – it still fit me, except for the enormous poofy sleeves kept falling off my shoulders, hehe.  I didn’t have time to do my hair all big and funny though – I had been teaching at an event that day and didn’t get home until right when we had to leave for the party. Some of the guys at the party got really into their outfits and they were hilarious!!

This layout was also done using the Love Elsie products from the Little Daisy kit. About our hilarious trip to Portland when we went to teach at CKC. (The entire trip is documented several posts down)

Another class for Precious Memories. This is a mini book made from scratch and the class will also focus on doodling. I used a lot of watercolor pencils in this – they are my favorite thing to use lately! :)

I will post more pictures later of the layouts I made with the Memories From the Attic kit and more from Little Daisy too :)

Home at last

It’s nice to be home, although things are still super busy around here. I had a great trip to Cincinnati and Indianapolis. 2 of my favorite new discoveries from my trip were sugar free banana popsicles from Kroeger (oh.my.goodness. these were so good!!) and a salad place called “When Eddie Met Salad” that my sister took me to in Indy. I am addicted to a certain salad I had there – and I am not normally a salad person. My flight home was one of the best flights I’ve been on in a long time. The plane was practically brand new and I was in the emergency exit row so I had a ton of leg room. Plus each seat had their own TV!!! There was about 20 different movies to choose from and a variety of TV shows and sitcoms. I watched Juno and part of PS I Love You. Juno was really good, PS I Love You was sad. I was actually starting to get teary watching it, and I rarely tear up when watching movies. For some reason our row kept having TV problems and twice they went out on us. We had to wait for them to go reset them and the first time it took them almost an hour.

Anyway, I got home to Vancouver in the late afternoon, Brent picked me up, literally dropped me and my luggage off at home, then he had to rush off to work. (Overnight shift – Paramedic). Gracie (the cat) did not leave me alone the entire evening, she was probably wondering why the dogs didn’t come home with me. I spent the entire evening unpacking, doing laundry, and repacking. We had to leave first thing in the morning (as soon as Brent got home from work) to head for the ferry to go to Victoria. I ended up staying up until 2am – cleaning mostly. I hate going away and leaving any sort of mess in the house. Then I had one of those awful restless nights where I know I have to get up early and I’m worried about sleeping through my alarm. So I end up waking up each hour to check the time. After doing that a few times, I decided just to get up around 6. We did make it to the ferry on time, and arrived at my parents house a few hours later. I was so excited to see Angus and Zoey!! They were excited too but I think I was more excited! 2 weeks is the longest I have ever gone without them. They just love being with my parents & their pets so I know they had a great time there. We stayed in Victoria for 5 days, mostly doing lots of family stuff with both our families. I went to Scrapbook Parade while I was in Victoria to meet the owner Carol. I’m going to be teaching some classes there next month on National Scrapbooking Day, I’m really excited as Scrapbook Parade was the very first scrapbook store I EVER went into! This was the place that started my love for “scrapbook supply collecting” :) Carol has done a fantastic job on the store, she’s owned it a year now and she’s changed it all around – it looks better then ever!

I went with my mum one evening to spend a few hours with my grandma. She is in a care home but my mum and uncle take turns everyday to go and help look after her. My grandma has dementia so she doesn’t always remember stuff or people. So far she has remembered me when I go but it had been several weeks since I last saw her. She did remember me, which made me very happy. I feel so lucky to have gotten to see her again. A couple months ago she was very ill and we thought she was going to pass away within days. She amazed everyone by pulling through and getting better. She is still not doing great, but its like we have her on borrowed time now.

We got home a few days ago and I went right out to Precious Memories to see their new store. They just moved into a huge location – wow – it looks amazing in there!!! I can’t wait to teach there in a couple weeks!

The dogs were very scruffy looking as I’ve been waiting for the weather to get better before giving them their Spring haircuts. Well, I couldn’t wait any longer, so they now look like different dogs! Angus looks like a puppy again :)

We took the dogs to a dog park in North Vancouver yesterday – it was right on a beach and beautiful! There were so many dogs there it was insane – but Angus and Zoey had a great time. Then we stopped at Starbucks & Whole Foods on the way home and I had a great time! lol

I am currently working on some new mini books for some upcoming classes at Precious Memories so I will upload some photos of those soon. I’m also working on some video tutorials – hopefully those will be ready this week :)
